A self-described museum nerd, Maia has worked in museums for over 25 years doing everything from grant writing to exhibit development. For the past 20 years, she's focused on visitor research and evaluation. Prior to launching her evaluation firm in 2017, she served as the Manager of Research & Evaluation for the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, establishing the museum’s first research and evaluation department. She also worked as a Research and Evaluation Specialist at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, CA, serving both in-house and external clients. She received her bachelor’s degree from Macalester College and Master of Arts in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University.

Maia is supported by data collectors, research assistants, and statisticians on a project-by-project basis.
