We don't believe in one-size-fits-all evaluation projects. MWA Insights works with you to customize every evaluation project to ensure that it is focused on your unique goals, your target audiences, and your institutional contexts. Drawing on over 20 years of evaluation experience in cultural institutions ranging from art museums to zoos, we are able to tailor each project using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods. Just a few examples of projects we've loved

Working Together: Building a Model for Diversity and Inclusion in Small to Mid-Sized Institutions
Palo Alto Art Center & Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo
The project took a multi-tier approach to addressing the lack of diversity in the museums’ staffs, combining ongoing Diversity, Equity, Access, and Inclusion (DEAI) training with a ladder of engagement for diverse populations to engage with the museums through teen leadership programs, undergraduate internships, and graduate fellowships. MWA Insights conducted evaluation throughout the 4-year project, culminating in a final summative evaluation report and white paper examining lessons learned.

Access from the Ground Up
Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo
This project sought to better serve children with disabilities through a combination of partnerships with community, staff professional development and training, and the development of accessible STEM-focused exhibits and resources at the new Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo facility. Using surveys, focus groups, and interviews, MWA Insights conducted summative evaluation of the impact of the project on staff, community partners, families with a child with a disability, and general museum visitors.

Crocker Together
Crocker Art Museum
This project sought to evaluate, re-imagine, and re-design the museum’s suite of Art + Wellness programming, with the goal of reducing loneliness and social isolation for target audiences, including low-income women and families, veterans, and teens. MWA Insights conducted front-end research, facilitating community listening sessions to gather data to support program design, and summative evaluation looking at program impact.Clients
